Description of Operation:
The ASI-70B Control Head Test Panel is designed to test a large variety of standard controls for COM, NAV, DME, ADF, and Transponder systems. Several parallel and serial tuning methods are supported by a microprocessor interface system that decodes commands from the UUT for display on the ASI-70B. The ASI-70B channels in several formats including:
ARINC 429, 11-Wire, BCD-Parallel, BCD-Shifted, Collins CSDB, ARINC 566 2x5, DME Bridge, BCD-Inverse, Slip Code, King Serial, and ARINC 566A(8.33 kHz).

The ASI-70B assists the technician in several ways. Failed parallel control lines can be quickly isolated using the front panel LEDs that monitor individual signals. Troubleshooting failed isolation diodes is accomplished using the built-in diode test feature. Squelch and volume potentiometers can be tested by using the test jacks provided on the front panel. Auxiliary function indicators are also provided for testing functions specific to a particular control.

Cables for the ASI-70B can be purchased from ASI or customer fabricated.
